Extraordinary presidential elections announced in Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on the announcement of extraordinary presidential elections in Azerbaijan. According to the order, the Central Election Commission shall ensure the appointment of extraordinary presidential elections in Azerbaijan for 7 February 2024 and their holding in accordance with the procedure established by the Electoral Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Presidential elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan will be held for the first time in history in 125 electoral districts across the country. For the first time, polling stations will be opened throughout the country: in Shusha, Khankendi, including all settlements liberated from occupation.
